The two seals are Chresten Sommer's first designs for Spring Copenhagen. He is trained as a shipbuilder, but skillfully demonstrates his eye for other applications of his craft with the seals that animates any room they occupy with a natural dynamic.
The two seals are a great example of how animals are featured in Nordic design traditions where many Danish artist have been inspired by the Nordic hemispheres wildlife. When the seals are sitting on their own or side by side in a windowsill they are almost as animated as real life seals in nature.
Mother Seal and Baby Seal are great examples of carpentry that gets the expressions and proportions exactly right. They are an imitation of Nordic wildlife at its best.

Baby Seal is a unique handmade and hand-assembled wooden product that is bound to have some variation between one and another. As such, each figure is unique, and no two are exactly the same. Clean with a damp cloth. Apply beeswax regularly on all our products for maintenance, then they will last a lifetime and beyond, as they can be passed on from generation to generation.
