The Ballet table lamp is a beautiful and decorative lamp inspired by the shapes of nature.
The unique table lamp reminds us of giant jelly fish and provides a beautiful warm light.
The Ballet table lamp includes a dimmable switch and is designed by the award winning Danish designer Poul Christiansen.
Ballet, a table lamp inspired by nature
As you commonly find in Poul Christiansen's designs, the Ballet table lamp is inspired by nature. Even though it may remind you of large jelly fish, its design language is actually inspired by the shape you get when you hold a long leaf in one end, and let the other end hang naturally as it is pulled down by gravity.
This way, a soft curve is formed by each leaf. This naturally occurring curve inspired Poul Christiansen to combine the hanging leaves in a circle suspended from a common anchor point.
Ballet, a table lamp that doesn't dominate
The lamp's three thin legs produce a graceful and fragile look, which ensures that the lamp doesn't dominate the room it is placed in. Meanwhile, the three legs provides a stable foundation, even if it is standing on an uneven surface.
Its lampshade is suspended from the center of the frame above the LED lightbulb, which gives a natural drop to the shade – like the shape of a woman's skirt or the round shape of a jelly fish.
Ballet arrives in a flat-packed box to avoid damages during transportation. The assembly only requires two steps: mounting the lampshade and adding the third leg.
The matching pendant is available upon request for SGD $399 and will be delivered within two weeks.
