The Mother Seal started out as a bear
The design of Mother Seal actually started out as a bear, but in his creative process Chresten Sommer found himself with a seal head in his hands all of a sudden, and then developed a body for the round head to rest on. With that, the Mother Seal was born in just a few days with whiskers and tail.
She draws from the strong Danish and Nordic tradition for using animal designs in home decor.
What makes Chresten Sommer's seals so special and completely unique is that their heads can swivel in any direction, just like real live seals have an incredible ability to turn their heads in any imaginable and unimaginable direction.
