Spaltekanden is the most famous work by Eva Stæhr-Nielsen (and Saxbo). It is available in two sizes. The medium edition was – just as the large edition of Spaltekanden – produced from 1933 until Saxbo shut down in 1968. Spaltekanden is available in a medium version with a height of 18 centimer and the original, large version with a height of 24 centimeter.
Danish world-class ceramics
The shape of Spaltekanden emerges by an unique utilisation of a turned, tall and narrow neck that is cut-through. One part is bend forward as spout while the second part is bend backwards as handle.
Spaltekanden is stoneware with egg-white glazing and is handmade in Portugal. It is a unique piece of ceramic art and works everywhere in the home, both as an ewer, a vase and as a sculpture.
